you can choose ONE two or four, so you have a ONE in three chance, so which ONE are you going to choose?

LMAO. Rather ironic response, accusing me of a cop out while at the same time issuing a copout of your own.
The man gave woo woo based explanations. He knows damn well that he is dealing with an audience with a braod spectrum of intellect, education, level of ignorance and critcal thinking skills. He knows that withing that spectrum there will be a significant number of people who believe his woo woo explanations.
He has been, at best, incredibly irresponsible and at worst Gelleresque.

no when he revealed the numbers it had faded back to live as you can see ball 39 has been move a bit when it goes back to live tv

if he prerecorded himself revealing the lottery numbers he would’ve still had to predict the lottery.

if it was prerecorded he still would’ve needed to predict the lottery. If your right he would’ve had to record him revealing the numbers before hand right?

He also had a still-picture from said footage posted on his blog back in August. So he’s clearly been planning this from the start.

And on doing professional magic for 7 years and following Derren for about… that amount of time too. I’m not convinced that:
a) He actually wanted or thought people would believe the obviously false explanation(S). It was clearly tongue in cheek
And
b) that it’s the end of it. There is confirmed footage of him predicting the footage Xmas so it’s obviously a double-bluff and he’s going to pull out the trump card in due time.

I’m not being bias at all.
Don’t insult me by using such a lame cop-out. It’s a cop out of the argument and an excuse, a rather pathetic and easy excuse to discount my view. Or attempt to. But it’s nonsense.
I look at everything objectively. I am for example a huge Eminem fan but Encore was a let down. I don’t kid myself.

hey bazza, it still dont mean that the numbers will come out does it? So how can Derren say he can predict the lottery. If you believe it can be done why dont you win it this week.Hope to see your pic with a giant cheque from camelot.

You can keep claiming that if it makes you feel better. What you’re doing of course is rationalising. I was never a fan of Brown and therefore have no such burden to rationalise his apalling performance.
I’m aware that he has stated that he is not psychic. What he just did however, is give completely bogus/woo woo based explanations.
Geller actually has 4 tricks btw
1) Spoon bending/Key bending
2) Moving a compass with his mind (or was it a magnet)
3) Psychic imaging
4) Watch fixing

Every1 has fallen for his double-bluff by thinking they’ve caught him out and played right into his hands. This is all too easy, there’s absolutely NO WAY, this is it.
I gurantee you in a few weeks you will look silly.

Also it’s clear to anyone who understands Derren that the explanation was OBVIOUSLY tongue-in-cheek.
Do you seriously believe he’d think the nation would actually believe that after he’s gone to such lengths to dispell such popular explanations for other phenomena.
There’s obviously a catch coming at the end of the four weeks, already hints of footage of him pre-xmas predicting the balls.

NO he hasn’t at all. Derren has crossed NO grey area.
He still to this day as always he has said in interviews and to the public, in fact he EMPHASIZES it constantly:
“THIS IS NO PHYSIC, NOTHING I DO IS, IT’S ALL TRICKERY”
He has at no point claimed anything he’s done is supernatural. Where as Geller is a pure fraud and despite being caught out, to this day still tries to claim he has powers.
And Geller isn’t a full-blown magician. Just a spoon bender. One fucking trick.

derren brown has always used ‘cheaper’ magic to make his his tricks look like more skillful psychological tricks. people actually believe his psychological tricks because they read that there is some scientific background to it. the fact that derren uses cheap trickery to make it appear that he uses psychological tricks is in fact his greatest trick

Notice that he has the predicted lottery numbers up on the screen a lot. Notice that the numbers have 1 2 and 3 in it but no 4.
When he’s explaining the boxes he only points at 1, 2 and 3. Also after she picks three he says “There’s ONE, TWO and four left” emphasizing on the 1 and 2.
I could go on and on ;x

His example of the farming community guessing the weight of the bull was a false analogy and utter bs. But the sort of bs that people not very good at mathematics might take seriously.
This is the same kind of twaddle as can be found in astrology, water divining, clairvoyance, psychokinetics, etc
I’m sorry by my comparison to Uri Geller stands. The fact that he’s a better magician than Uri Geller is irrelavent.

Try reading a comment before responding. I didn’t at any point say he gave the trick away.
Like Uri Geller before him, Derren has crossed a grey area between an entertaining illusionist and a deceptive manipulator of people’s beliefs about what can be real and what is not.
His Friday presentation left people believing that “automatic writing”, and “meditation” have some reality as physical predictions.
