Pennsylvania Lottery (Nighttime Drawings) August 26th, 2008

APOLOGIZE FOR THE POOR VIDEO QUALITY. This was the debut of a new format ( http://www.palottery.state.pa.us/news.aspx?id=124760 ) for the Pennsylvania Lottery nighttime televised drawings at 6:59 PM ET. The reason for the changes was because a new game was added to the day and night drawings called Quinto. This was the first nighttime drawing of that game. From now on in the TV drawings, the drawing official will press one button to automatically select winning numbers for each of three games — The Daily Number, BIG 4 and Quinto. Winning numbers for CASH 5, mix and match, and MATCH 6 lotto have been drawn using one button per drawing since each of the games’ inception. That part of the drawing will remain the same. This drawing was aired on WPVI channel 6 in Philadelphia. Any comments on the changes? More info on the new game can be found at this link: http://www.palottery.state.pa.us/games.aspx?id=124630 FYI at the end of each night drawing, they only show the results of the night drawing only, not both day and night like it is in this video.

People from all over the world can win the American Green Card by registering to the DV Lottery program done by the US State Department every year.
The chances are very high. People can register directly on the US site or use a professional company’s services. An organization that renders such services and makes sure the application is submitted correctly is USAGC Organization:

Hey Julius121081, can you apologize for the low quality?

I grew up in Ohio, and as far back as I can remember, which is to about 1990, the Pick 3 and Pick 4 machines were always activated remotely from offstage. I even remember seeing other states’ drawings where someone drew the number manually, and thinking that that was decidedly low-tech.

I have yet to see on YT a clip of an Ohio Lottery drawing with the cool electronic music they used up until the early 2000s.

I totally agree with you. That’s why I would love to see more pre 10/2003 PA lottery television drawings here on you tube because they were better than the current format of the drawings today.

This is so boring compared to what it was like in the 90s. There was the awesome music in the background, and each number being individually drawn. Plus there was that Million Dollar Spin they occasionally had which was really exciting.

So does New Jersey, they also televise the mid-day drawings.

I know they do some stupid animation for the mid-day drawings. Even in Virginia they manage to have a real televised drawing.

On the lottery website, there is video of an animated depiction of the current mid-day drawing numbers 7 days a week

Thanks for posting this! I don’t live in PA anymore so I can’t watch the drawings. I don’t like the idea where they push one button draw the balls on the machines. They’re cramming too many games in each night’s drawing. Heck, don’t they do a daytime drawing that isn’t even televised? Wonder if the TV drawings will be an afterthought as time goes on?

The only drawings on tape I have are from 2006 to the present of selected PA and NJ Lottery TV nighttime drawings. I still record them to this day.

Thanks for sending me this video to my Youtube email! I liked the older format better, where the guy turns the balls. All he has now is a meesly button! Hope that you can send me a 1977 Daily Number or 1980 Big 4 drawing someday!

Also I noticed that the announcer didn’t mention the jackpots for the jackpot games Cash 5 and Match 6. Since it appears that the announcers aren’t going to mention the jackpots anymore, they should display the jackpots on the bottom of the Cash 5, Match 6 and Mix and Match machines it self.

The witness was not on screen for the whole drawing. He was visible in full screen and on the box on left side of the screen while the daily number and big 4 numbers was being drawing. The witness was visible on the screen on the right side of the Big 4 machine and then when it got to the quinto machine, the camera stopped showing the witness and showed the drawing official on the screen for the rest of the drawing. The witness should be seen on camera for the whole drawing, not part of it.

I would ask the Lottery or the place where the nighttime drawings are done at, WHP TV about that.

I wonder if the set changes are for high-definition broadcasting? I notice a lot of TV stations and networks have upgraded their on-air look, even the Weather Channel. It seems like HD technology is driving the networks to modernize everything and give their image a fresh look.
